RiboPro has won the Blue Tulip Award hosted by Accenture in the Netherlands last week. Formerly known as Accenture Innovation Awards, the annual Blue Tulip Awards identifies the most promising start-ups and innovations in the Netherlands across 8 categories. Ribopro’s affordable, custom made messenger RNA (mRNA) for the development of vaccines and cures was voted the winner in the category Health & Well-being.

Among 50 other promising innovations, RiboPro was one of the selected contenders in the Health & Well-being category. The key theme was aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals; Goal No. 3 Good Health and Wellbeing.

This year the Health & Well-being theme focused on four main trends: rising costs, digital health, changing ecosystems and operating models.

In making their decision, the jury evaluated the innovations based on various criteria such as Impact, Business Model, Innovativeness, Scalability, and Responsible Innovation. According to the jury “RiboParticles by RiboPro is the winner because they are the accelerator for mRNA-based treatments enabling others to deliver targeted medication.”

RiboPro doesn’t just deliver the right mRNA, the organization works together with it’s clients to help them achieve what they want. Customers typically do not always know how they need their source material made. RiboPro can help figure this. And once delivered, the service won’t stop. RiboPro stays in touch to advise on quantities or applications and helps with analysing results if needed.

Co-founder and CEO Sander van Asbeck is pleased with the recognition: “We’re honoured to be selected as the most innovative start-up. This prestigious award empowers our whole organization as we continue our effort to strive for our mission; helping 1000’s of innovators worldwide, to create 100’s of novel medicines, within 10 years from today for 1 better world.

I also found it great for team building. To go through the whole Awards process really makes the team bond. It’s a great challenge and you’re doing it together. Winning the Blue Tulip Award is the ultimate reward for the entire team.”

About the Blue Tulip Awards
