PhD position in the MSCA-DN project CanGoNano “Synthesis and optimization of mRNA and Glyco-Lipid NanoParticles for targeted mRNA delivery” 

CanGoNano is a European Training Network funded in the framework of HORIZON Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN), focusing on glyconanomaterials as precision tools to unveil key insights on the triggering of the antigen presenting cells against cancer using antigenic peptides and mRNAs encoding for these peptides.

Within CanGoNano, Doctoral Candidates (DCs) will be equipped with a thorough multifaceted knowledge of the potential of glycoscience in cancer immunotherapy and the necessary transferable skills.

CanGoNano will provide an international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary educational program, according to the EU Principles for Innovative Doctoral Training. This will put DCs in an advantageous position for job opportunities in both academia and industry.

As part of the CanGoNano network RiboPro is hiring a Doctoral Candidate for the (DC6) PROJECT with focus on:  
Synthesis and optimization of mRNA and Glyco-Lipid NanoParticles for targeted mRNA delivery

• Design, enzymatic synthesis, and characterization of high-quality mRNAs encoding for the antigenic peptides;
• Use of microfluidic mixing to produce size-defined LNPs;
• Set up of the strategies for the CuAAC functionalization of LNPs with alkyne-tagged carbohydrate fragments/fluorescent probes, and for mRNA encapsulation;
• Set up of LNP-mRNA formulated with adjuvants;
• Training in enzymatic synthesis, microfluidics, bionanotechnology, carbohydrate & click chemistry, GNM formulation and anti-cancer activity.

The position will be supervised by Alexander H van Asbeck (RiboPro, NL) and Co-supervised by Roland Brock (Stichting Radboud Universitair Medisch Centrum, NL) and Carmen Alvarez-Dominguez (Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, ES).

Skills/Qualifications 

• Master degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Nanomedicine and/or Nanomaterial Science.
• Practical experience in molecular biology and molecular biology characterization techniques.
• Preferred but not mandatory experience with nanoparticle formulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good level of English proficiency (understood, spoken and written).
• Flexible, pro-active and team spirit

The Opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for the execution of the worldwide marketing strategy of RiboPro. You will work closely with sales, scientists and production-team to increase the worldwide brand awareness of our company.

Core responsibilities

Branding, positioning and creation of materials

• • Execute on integrated marketing tactics and omnichannel strategy to increase brand awareness, lead generation and customer engagement
  • Maintenance of our digital strategy, including LinkedIn, SEO, SEA in collaboration with our marketing agency
  • Maintenance and development of the RIBOPRO website
  • (Co-)Create creative content (presentations, brochures, visuals, social media posts) based on the marketing strategy ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and sales strategies
  • Analyse and report out of several marketing related KPIs to internal stakeholders
  • Create, plan and lead marketing initiatives including events, conferences, webinars, marketing campaigns and new product launches.

Market analysis & Product Development

• • Perform market research, Voice of Customer collection and identify gaps and define a value proposition for our products
  • Suggest new product development opportunities to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• • • A bachelor’s degree in molecular biology (including RNA science) or similar education with at least 1-2 years of experience in marketing

    • Fluency in English, Dutch is preferred

Product Sales Specialist mRNA / LNP (F/T) 

Your role:
As a Product Sales Specialist you are responsible for customer contact and providing optimal support before, during and after the use of our mRNA and/or LNP (Lipid NanoParticles) technology. You can convey your enthusiasm about the potential of mRNA and LNPs, share your knowledge and you are able to communicate with the client at a high level as part of the consultative selling process. You will identify customer needs and suggest the appropriate products and/or services.

As the primary point of contact for the customer, you represent the company, acquire new leads, compose quotes, and build long lasting relationships to guide clients in the successful use of our mRNA from first experiment towards GMP-grade.

You align internally with the production team and scientists and handle the shipment. In this way, you are involved in the entire process, from the first contact to after-sales and everything in between. In addition, you monitor market trends and competitors’ products, and support marketing in the creation of promotional materials.
